Where I Am I'm an Environment Artist who's worked at an indie game startup and then indie film startup for a total about 3 years before leaving. For the past 11 months I've been building up my skills and took the Env Art for Games as well as Organic Worldbuilding courses at CGMA (which consist of the first two pieces on my…
Hey guys, decided to get my workflow into polycount and get some more crit :) :) . Lets roll. I study at the University of Hertfordshire and I have been given a brief to make a mock video game trailer. The fist step was to get a team together and come up with an idea. So I got the group, here is the game pitch: (note, if…
Update; I have been working quite a bit last week on the model, the Capstan is done, helm and bow. I also put in some masts and mapped out a sail plan as well, I will also post more close up images to get a better sense of detail and anything that needs changing. Thanks everyone for the feedback, I appreciate it.
Check out some of the work I've been working on for the past year! Here is the low-poly T-pose: Here is the low poly posed and rendered in Marmoset! Here is the concept: I also worked with Ownage to produce casts of a 3d printed version in primed resin! There are a few still available here: mkt.com/coilscogs/werewolf More…
Character and katana texture done. I´ve been messing around with arnold during this past days creating a lighting set up I was happy with, and I came up with this at the end. Now I will finish with the skull model and texture. Once I end up with it, I will pose her and as last, create the hair with xGen if am able.
@chrisradsby Thank you for replying :) I love your work Yes i've spent the past few days thinking about the cliffs and came to terms with the fact that I need to make some pretty badass rocks to make it look good. I came up with these below after messing around, wondering what you guys think:
do it. Time spent with illustration is never wasted as it helps you understand form better and makes you more flexible as an artist. Quick crit on the head of your last post-- as a general rule heads are as deep as they are tall. Right now your figure has a severely truncated if it's a side profile. Do that paint and post…
Last update for the night, all lighting. Decided to stray away from the reference a bit and give the lights more of a complementary orange feel as well as make the lighting even more dramatic. I've worked on this non-stop for the past 3 days so I think a tiny break is needed. Any comments or crits are more than welcomed!…
I like the left one more as well but I think it's not so much the technical side. Maybe it's just the fact that there are more areas you can look at where there's not so much going on. The right one has lots of cast shadows and contrast and the left one has warmer lighting and less prominent leafs. It's a great idea in any…
Looking back at the contest sub-forum for it it looks like it's turning out better than I remember. The last few times I've checked though nearly all but 3 or 4 of the threads had been posted in over the past 4 or 5 days. I guess people just aren't updating their progress as much as I thought they would be.
