What? Seriously!? I give up, freedom is important to me and no one should tell me what to do, It's freaking art... Sorry never thought that could be a thing, thank you so much for the warning. Btw look in their website, it hurts just reading it... company/ourvoice
I don't think the dig sold that well. I was a fan of it because it was one of the first games I played that gave me some freedom to make some choices good or bad. I keep a DOS box around just to play BioForge, The Dig, and wing commander.
No, not Judge Dredd! If they have those lines in that movie it is because they stole them from the movie I'm actually quoting. "...on our way to freedom, we're going to have their best man leading the way - from the neck up! On the hood of my car!" Maybe too easy now.
give employees freedom on loose deadlines and they will do jack shit. have a nice working environment, and when you can't afford that anymore the employees will be grumpy. make the company a co-op and the employees will splinter into factions. make me a cup of tea and I'll give you a biscuit.
Thanks Tectonic and Slosh for your feedback. You are definitely right. Till now I didn't create many characters from concept, mainly enjoyed the freedom of creating something new. This is definitely a new challenge for me. I did some modifications following your comments, hopefully it's better now :)
I'm really excited for this (naturally for the particle side of things). I'm curious though as to how much functionality we'll lose with materials when using GPU particles. A million particles is nice, but I always believed the power of VFX in UDK lies in the incredible customization & freedom we have with our materials.
The textures are spot on, really nice contrast, colour variation and a good amount of detail/interest/damage.. great job! Really glad to see you've gone with adding the Maleficent's green lighting via actual lighting rather than adding it into the diffuse, should give you a lot more freedom with the scene.
Did a little more detail work on the body and started working on the handle. Because the handle is not exactly the same as the reference I'm working from, I had a little more freedom regarding the textures of it too. I went for a sort off half matte leather look, but tried to keep the original colors.
"Courage isn't the lack of fear. The lack of fear is stupidity. Courage is raising up to the challenge in spite of it" Now get off your ass, stop making excuses and start kicking ass there is plenty of freedom in the challenge and plenty of time get some kick ass art done. GO GO GO!
It's locked to the view, so I have more freedom on making it look good from just one angle. Also I'd like to add that although the spiral shape is a reference I would like to stick to, I'm much more interested in getting the right material and texture for them.
