Hi there, I'm looking for a little advice on learning to sculpt skulls - exercises to do, resources to learn from. I started the below block out initially trying to copy the workflow in the preview images to Andrew Cawrse's sculpting the skull from memory dvd. I was supposed to make it a generic skull based on average…
I'm looking for any tools for simple sculpting in the editor. This is for meshes which are not terrains. I need to do some soft-falloff push/pull editing. If the terrain sculpting tools worked with non-terrains, that would be perfect. But they don't, :( What I've found so far: VTX Painter = this looks perfect, but doesn't…
Hey @milestreet thanks so much for the feedback and encouraging words, I appreciate it! On my current sculpt I tried to use the loomis method in 3D, and I'm having some good results! Thanks for the link too, that makes things a lot easier to see when sculpting! Appreciate your help! :) Hey @ivilai I also appreciate your…
Yes, the sculpts anatomy could use some more work. Aside from using references while sculpting, you could make anatomy studies on the side (sketches), try to break down the body into primitive shapes and observe their proportions and relation to each other. Maybe check out a few anatomy for artists books/resources (Bammes…
I know there are a few guys on these boards that have gotten into sculpting and I just wanted to share this site with ya. It is a lot like polycount but mainly for sculptors and painters and can really offer you a lot of help with what you may need or would like to know. Plus there are some really cool sculpts on there…
Thanks for the responses guys. I'm a little confused though- 1) you're all saying that it doesn't look right because the rock is too thin, and that it wouldn't work. I get that it may look fragile, but isn't that usually what these kind of rock arches appear like? They're eroded away by wind over time and probably are…
Hmm, from the game screenshot, it looks like it's a four-sided system of blades: But if you wanted to just make it two-bladed, I think the middle part as you've sculpted it is too thick. (Oh wait, nevermind, I didn't look at his other hand!)
With the upcoming movie "John Carter" coming out soon, I figured I'd go ahead and sculpt one of my favorite character from the books; the Jeddak of the Tharks, Tars Tarkas. I'm fairly new to sculpting and so any sort of critiques are more than welcome. Here is the actual character from the film. Again, any crits are…
I'm having a hard time sculpting a face. I hope the smaller body is looking realistic, I think it turned out quite well. I put it there to display that this character is being stretched and is much taller than a real human. The head however, is not looking right. i've tried and deleted it like 5 times. Always looks…
