Why, Autodesk? The cut tool just blows my mind. I can never make it work when snaped to a view in ortographic mode. I agree with you Earth Quake. Whenever I work on something I prefer target res as well. Anyway I think that people (and myself included) use x2 or x4 instead of x4 and x16, because most of the time we say a 1024, 2048 or 512 texture.
