Hello, this is the first character model I have created for an upcoming game of mine and was looking for feedback regarding its model and texture. Created in Blender: 896 Verts, 858 Faces, 1708 Tris Texture Size: 512x512 All comments and criticism are welcome. Thanks! EDIT: Wireframe
Hello polycounters. For those of you that haven't seen the progress on this one here's my final shots for Eomer. Roughly 170k triangles(80k only the god damn hair). 3 texture sheets 8k for the body, 4k for the face and 4k for the hair. I hope you'll enjoy it.
You're in luck, friend. While you can no longer buy MX518s, Logitech replaced that mouse with something very similar, current version is the G400. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4831NY2070&cm_re=logitech_g400-_-26-104-838-_-Product
Lowpoly is done, UVs are done, bakes are done. She's around 80k tris now, using 4 main textures (face, body, upper clothing, lower clothing) + an extra 2 materials for hair and lace. Will be moving onto texturing soon.
yeah I have heard of some people getting at least 250, but the funniest thing I overheard was when someone from an adjoining office was discussing hiring a producer and quoted around 800 per day. I am in the wrong job:)
update: low poly is now at 508 tris. i guess that won't be too much for fps games. also, i made this thing recently: i know, too many small lines. but that wood surface was so much fun to paint!
For a saving of (6 * $3500) - (6 * $800) = $16,200 I can probably switch back to MEL. Our "indie" tools are mostly for content delivery. I guess I'll just have to see what works and what doesn't with a demo of LT.
Maybe a Nvidia 460? Rest you could upgrade to ddr2-800. (ddr2 6400). If you mb has OC abilities with any left over buy an aftermarket cooler and slightly OC your processor. Or get a Phenom II series.
It's all kind of relative to the cost of living. It works better if you look at the lifestyle that salary affords you, in that area. In the US you could make 40k and own a few acres, or you could be making 80k and live in a tiny apt with a roommate.
