hey guys. I know there’s some plugins that do this, basically I’m looking for a way to get nice rounded/beveled edges without using a bunch of edge loops and sub-dividing. Sometimes the model is a bit complex and putting all those edge loops around just to get smooth edges is a major time consumer. I use Maya if that’s any…
Maya has a tool called Slide Edge which allows you to select an edge loop or edge and slide it along a surface without changing the silhouette. Max has Constrain by edge/face/normal, which works the same for single edges, but doesn't really work if you have an edge loop on complex geometry, like an edge loop around the…
try this (convex only though so concave would need to split into convex then recombined after being wrapped individually)... -- creates a ray point along the edge fn getEdgeRay msh edg = ( ze = edg - 1; a = (mod ze 3) + 1; b = mod a 3; fverts = getface msh (ze/3 + 1); v0 = getvert msh fverts[a]; v1 = getvert msh fverts[b +…
Anyone knows if there's a maxscript out there that will select a ring that's the shortest distance between two edges? I tried writing it myself, but it's going over my head. Can't figure out how to select the parallel edge of an edge selection.
Hello ! All in the title, do you know a script that perform this operation: I do a Edge Ring > Transform the lengh of the edges to have all the same length. Indifferently in Max or Maya. Thanks !
Topogun and Knald results Topogun and the cube with hard edges gave some problematic output. Knald textures have an Alpha on top which hides the edge padding/dilation.
Sorry for the dumb question but I can't seem to find it on google. I have a mesh and just need to evenly distribute its edge loops. I'm aware of some tools like insert edge loop set to multiple edge loops on equal multiplier will help to create meshes with equal edge distances. But I need to modify existing mesh edge loops…
I’m having a difficult time understanding why edge creasing is working this way, is anyone able to elaborate why it doesn’t crease on the left with the outer edges selected: I can't wrap my head around why with an edge loop, creasing the outer edges doesn't hold its shape but doing the interconnected edges pulls them in.…
