Orc Guy Based on feedback reduced the polycount from ~3,700 tris to ~1k. Made head bigger, more of a piggy nose. Same rig, but more hunched over pose. Got Quake Live in the current steam sale and looked into adding custom characters. Importing parts of the existing character models into Blender, it's continuous strip with…
And here is some extra retouching I've been doing, while learning a bit of Mari for hand painted textures! And a little animation... This is the unholster animation, and the idle loop. I'll go on with adding some more animation states, and put all togetther in a little interactive animation in unity!…
FOR ANIMATORS! After finishing my blockout I'll release a download link. If an animator wants to use my model for the contest, you can use the blockout to create a rig and animate. Later during the challange I'll release my progress so you can present your animations with my final model! :)
Hey Torque You've probably read through this page, but if you scroll down to the "$animations" section it will give you some info on aligning animations to the first frame of other animations. Can't say I've tried it, but it sounds like it could work for you since you mentioned that not all of your anims are backwards.

In CryEngine for anything simple like a spinning fan or simple piston moving up and down, you can animate the object with some simple key frames and then export it as a "cga" file type (animated geometry). Then in the editor, you just load it as an "animObject" and it will animate with the correct settings. For something…
Their jobs page is hilarious... The animator post is just a bunch of big words for "I don't know what im talking about". Its basically telling you what an animator is and does. Not what you will be doing at that specific company. Animators 101. The fact they list off the principles of animation is just very noob to me.
Cool that you're interested in animation :) Not totally sure what sort of a crit you actually want on this. If you actually want to learn how to animate though I'd suggest tracking down a good beginners book like the animators survival guide by Richard Williams and do some exercises. Keep it up, animation is fun
