Marmoset Toolbag can bake multiple texture sets like this. You can separate by baking groups and bake all at once, or if you have multiple materials inside a single object you can separate that way as well. Check out the tutorials on Marmoset website to get an idea how it works. AFAIK it's the only baking application that…
+1 for EarthQuakes articles and the many tutorials at marmoset. When I read the jargon heavy PBR stuff, my eyes cross and I begin to drool. When I read the artist-focused stuff at marmoset, +10 intelligence immediately. But I really wanted to say to OP, don't just try to read all this stuff and understand it completely.…
As a student living paycheck to paycheck - Use a free engine like UE4 or Unity. Marmoset is quick to display nice results, and i find it easier to set up, but I don't think you lose out by learning to do it in something like UE4. The downside is that if you want to showcase your high poly, you won't want to do that…
Goat Justice I found out that this is somehow connected with export-import and normals. When I exported .obj and opened it in Marmoset - problem was there too. After some false tryies I happened to find the reason - in the "OBJ export options" --> Normalise tab ---> I marked "Normals". And the problem vanished. Also it…
Hi! I had the same issue as Gordon when trying to do this in Modo. I used the above naming of items in the obj I tested with. When using the quickloader in Marmoset, with this setup, I just get one item in the Baker with the shaders (the first bake group where removed as well). However if I export the same setup as an FBX…
Gonna call this piece finished. I am going to put this in my portfolio so if you see anything that does not read as a certain material please do not hesitate to point it out. I really wanted to try and nail the material definition on this piece. Hope yall like it!! :) Programs used: 3Ds Max, Zbrush, Photoshop, Xnormal,…
Recently I´ve used them as gloss, specular, roughtness and metalness maps too in Marmoset Toolbag despite being limited in texture options and absence of nodes. The results are not so bad for my taste, here is a demo of how easy is in Marmoset Toolbag 3: And that´s how I made this promotional GIF: In this case, the pack…
Hey there gang, as promised here is an update with my latest work. A GoPro Hero 3 modeled in 3Ds Max, textured in Quixel and Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 2. Again I am available to hire as a 3D Modeler/ Texture Artist from Houston, Texas. If you guys have any questions, are would like to see additional content, message me…
Thanks for all the replies thus far, guys. It really does help. I've attached my first test image using Marmoset. I know there are some issues with the texture along the side of the guitar, I may try to go back and redo the unwrap on this one. This is a guitar model I already had textured with a diffuse. I added a spec and…
The textures are not stretched. Can you just have a checkerbox texture and use it as the model in UE4 as then you see it isn't stretched. Note, two of the sides of the pillar are a bit longer, than the rest in the UV space. Also, you should consider getting marmoset and using that. I don't know why you are learning how to…
