I think the biggest thing is the direction of the sun. On the reference it's coming from the left of the image plane and shining through through the foliage. That's what creates those nice rays and shadows across the mid and foreground. In your image, the sun is coming from the right and more shining on the foliage than…
Is there a way to manipulate the direction the "get shape" uses across teh spline as the path? I have a spline in the shape of a chair leg, then another spline is the shape i want, everything works but the direction is wrong and its applying the shape the wrong way. How can you control the direction of the loft?
Cheers for the comments Praxedes, i admit i used no reference at all apart from the head and it was my first attempt in Z Brush i did try using Xnormal but when i was rendering out the AO it just came out blank why is this? can you give me any hints? Now looking on it i see that it is poorly defined and i left FAR too much…
what about left and right on the D pad? That way you could use up & down to browse files, left and right to zoom, and your right hand would be free for rotation. . . though lefties probably hate me now.
Yes, that was an oversight on my part. I was focusing more on making the assets animation friendly for cutscenes like intro scene or chest opening, and wasn't thinking of in game performance. Should I change the title of these? For optimization part I can do it up to the karen girl I made. Let me know if that needs any…
Hey everyone. =) Final WIP update before final renders, closing in on the finish line! The scene is now in its polish phase. I’ve refined the layout, filled out the spaces with props, tightened up materials, and brought the lighting close to its final pass. I’ve also been texturing several key assets in Substance Painter.…
What Rmunday said its the word! hahah I just duplicate the walk animation and adjust the feet to the sides and also rotate his body to indicate he is moving that direction. Here is a video to explain better the additive for animations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JFYt8kGYhM It's like when you want the lookat of the…
Long time follower first time posting my artwork. High poly boom lift modeled in Maya based on the Genie S60 model with some liberties taken here and there. Look forward to all of your thoughts on feedback.
I read both of EarthQuake's posts, as well as watched a video from Racer445 at CGTuts. I feel like I understand more but with that brings more questions. Lets take my test model for instance: Now I understand why Hard Edges are a problem when normal mapping. But what if you want those hard edges? I understand that you put…
Speaking of which, I gotta say good job guys. Cleanup was a breeze, tons of beers and food left over, plus TGZ (aka Brandon) fixed the sliding door that was fucked up from my previous party! Believe me I deal with a lot of shit during the regular parties I have monthly so waking up to this easy, quick cleanup was a breath…
