Plush is probably not the best choice for (detailed) photo scanning, as the deeper parts between the hair are obscured pretty quickly when you change your position and you'd need a crazy resolution to scan the actual hair. The overall falloff/fresnel effect caused by this might not matter that much, but could still play a… -

I really like it, but I have to agree, it does not look huge. I think at least a small part of that is your edge treatment. It looks worn off like - yeah... something the size of a human. Wear and tear on large objects looks different. Look at huge planes and buildings. I guess its more about rain draining down the sides… -

I ran some render tests and some of the ambient shadows were too strong(the metal piece at the bottom of the sheath, for example), but that was just because the object weren't close enough to eachother. Ok, some examples. First off we look at what happens when we have a smaller, closest matching, and larger lowpoly model. A.
