I've been wondering is it possible to create a stamp that has a push and pull effect, instead of just doing one direction. I notice that wherever the stamp is black it keeps the surface flat. But in zbrush i believe black pushes down and white pushes up? I find it kinda strange that mudbox is different.
Max used to push the cage out differently on the subsequent pushes after the first push. Have you tried looking for changes in direction of the vertices from different pushes? Also did you try to use the Max cage in substance painter? By the way, I thought the cage collapsing in on itself or overlapping itself was okay,…
I just started this WIP rock. Looking for some feedback to push it a little further. I think I have a good base going, needs more color. I'm always afraid of pushing too much details.
Nikey, nice spear but I feel the sculpt doesn't give enough impression on it. It is nice and clean but I sense it could use more of pushing in cavities and pushing out impressions.
Yup, the change needs to be the same geometry as the low poly, except pushed out or inflated. There should be a deformation operation in your 3d app that is called something like inflate or push.
make sure you've set the modifier's luminance mid point to 0.5 ... if it's 0.0 then it will only push out, if it's 1.0 then it will only push in. 0.5 will use mid grey as mid height.
Thanks so much to everyone for their feedback on this material. Helps me keep pushing :) Reduced noise, added finer details, and pushed hue/contrast in dirt and stones. Debris added.
