I have been feeling exactly the same way, i read a couple tutorials, but they seem to gloss over the specific part that i am needing to know, or their method doesn't work with maya 2012 or something. :/

Well shoot, I was somewhat hoping that it would be Maya since i have to eventually learn it for school but I guess I'll go on ahead with Max. Have any recommended tutorials for someone who is transitioning to it? Thanks!

I tried that and I got the same result. I'm getting the same error with SMD. I've seen tutorial videos where they only selected the weapon bone and the mesh and then exported. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Anyone knows a tutorial for compiling items without the built-in tool? Im trying to follow some guidelines I found in the internet but I can't seem to understand what to do exactly, Im tired of the built-in tool xD.
Anyone knows any tutorial or guide to help me understand the _mask1 and _mask2 usage? I tried searching on SDK Index and everywhere but can't find anything that helps, and its a bit hard for me to understand just by trial and error.
Working on some base colors but I'm not great at it, something seems off but I can't tell quite what it is, maybe my palette is too large? Gotta find a good color guide/theory site outside of the steam tutorials
