I really like the spookiness for this. The puddles are a good touch too. Maybe my perspective can help? In general I think there should be one more light that lightens the entire scene. I have this happen to me all the time. It seems fine when I'm at home working all night in the dark with the monitor illuminating the…
I'm one of the developers behind an indie game called Night Blights (http://store.steampowered.com/app/446910/). We're looking for a 3D Artist who would be interested in taking a commission to create 3D models of our Night Blight characters. They would need to be rigged for use in the Unity game engine with our own…
I've been trying to bake AOs with the light tracer button inside TexTools on max 2009. As you can see, the shadows are a bit shifted to the left. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried baking through render-to-texture dialog and I get the same results. Baking it with mental ray works just fine, but then the results…
hmmm - I haven't actually tried this yet but I was trying to figure this out too. I would create a white light source with a tinge of blue, not too bright but brighter than the moonlight/starlight, and make sure the shadows it's casting are pretty crisp rather than blurry. Then strobe it on and off over about a second - on…
we're looking at getting some lightmap support so we can get some nice prerendered lighting ingame. Since we dont have massive environments or a sophisticated in-engine lighting system we'll be rendering the maps from maya and the game will apply them to the corresponding objects. The way we're going to do that is by…
Damn, youre right. Could it be possible to questimate, like if a lamp would be X amount of distance away from the player, optimizer would know how much bloom it would produce and adjust the lod levels around it accordingly? i hope you can figure out what im trying to say here.. im really not pro with all this. :D So the…
Good point. I'll add that to the bottom shortly. In the meantime, you can always alter the query string (URL) such that the ...&page="n" parameter is subtracted by one. Super user-friendly, right? Speaking of updates, allow me to transcribe the list of "cool things I'd like to do to the site but need to prioritize": *…
Thank you for the quick comments @theslingshot: You are totally right the size doesnt really match the concept ... but I wanted this more confined feel ... it should feel like a basement where diver and fisher can enter the sea... A big hall like room didnt fit imo. :) @RichardSmith: the water might get realtime…
Aw no I wish that was mine haha Found it on google some euro site guy had a bunch of nice pictures of his 1979 Those semi hollows look pretty nice never seen em before. The washed out color is because of the lighting, I'm not really experienced with setting up lights. I get it at other angles and it brightens up. I think…
looking good but i would change the color of the bioluminescent flowers. right now they are producing the same color light as the sunlight making the plants look like artificial constructs. natural bioluminescence doesn't produce the same color light as the sun. also your flowers have broad leaves which would be useless…
