Thanks everyone for taking the time to stop by and give some feedback! :) @lloyd - Thanks! The renders were taken in Marmoset Toolbag, my favorite rendering solution <3 . I'll post some textures up when I get in from work. @Harbinger - I agree totally. I was trying out some new methods on this model to get the cleanest…
Rise from your grave!!!!!(again) So I had some work I was cleared to show (some) and a personal piece or two I did before I went on my whole art test//interview/relocation with Sledgehammer back around the beginning of 2014. Once that whirlwind started I lost track and didn't bother to update the thread. Now that I've…
Looks to me like nothing I wrote had any effect. Sounds to me like you have never had to go through legal at a developer or publisher. So to me what you are saying does sound far fetched and it does sound like pure speculation. Why is it so hard to believe that artists all got together and posted their art at the same…
My atempt at explaing this. Forget about the normal map first and just consider the lowpoly mesh. For each pixel that is rendered on the screen a normal is calulated by averaging the normal of the polygon being rendered and the neighbouring polygons. You can google this to get examples of algorithms to calculate this. The…
I'm happy to unveil the latest project Pure3d had in the works for the past weeks. We did a real-time visualization for a french architecture client. Our task was to deliver a solid interactive visualization which shows the final real estate look near the french town of "Warmeriville". Some elements needed to be directly…
Hey :) Thank you for the feedback. Would the banner automatically resize if i reduced the width of the live area? Right now I set it to be 1000px, originally it was something smaller. I'll try to mess around with that. Sure thing, I can remove some of the pics in the gallery. Some are quite similar. I would love to apply…
There was a thread here a while back where we dug into this. The advantage of having your AO separate is that the renderer can knock it out where the surface is directly illuminated. This is more correct and looks better. If the AO is multiplied on in areas of direct illumination, it looks more like dirt than shadow (which…
Damn TeriyakiStyle :) My hero ! I didn't even know about that "Show Issues" button. That'll teach me not to read the manual to the end and trust my usual feeling with UIs. "If ZBrush displays a message after using the Make Union Mesh function, you will be able to use the Render >> Render Booleans >> Show Issues…
Here is a update on this prop. The first 3 shots are rendered in Maya. The next 3 are rendered with UDK. The final shot is of the creation process. It is in the process of having a bit more grunge detail in the circuits and making the nasa symbol not so blurry. Some suggestions that were mentioned to me that maybe the…
Thanks everyone for the encouragement! LOL, and yea... i was begining to see hints of the Goldblum's fly too. :) After going to a pixologic demo held yesterday in LA (http://ugm.pixologic.com/registration/1011-LosAngeles/)... i was inspired to try to do some rendering and color test as shown by Ian Joyner. Some very cool…
