Just played it, pretty cool tech demo, but not easy. This is what driving in STALKER should have been like! I like how it's technical and challenging to keep moving, though you can get stuck easily with there not being a winch. btw rambooze who is a member here, did some trucks:…
interesting challenge indeed, to those mocking his tutor - work like this makes you think rather than splurge a million polygons, you know? regardless of whether it applies to current technology, it makes you look at how you spend your polygons. I gave it a 5 minute shot on my lunch just now - I decided to avoid planes…
This may help! http://download.autodesk.com/global/docs/maya2014/en_us/index.html?url=files/GUID-53AC4E74-DB3B-422F-864F-6772C171DB98.htm,topicNumber=d30e521595
I had to optimize the low poly because Dota has a 400 poly limit for the particular hero this sword goes on. When I took the low poly from zbrush, the thing had about 538 polys, so i had to cut some edges quite a bit. Is that what's screwing me up?
except that it's also £53.20 per month excluding VAT... which is £63.84 per month for us brits. which means we're actually paying $102.69 per month. now, why the fuck would i want to pay double what you're paying, for a digital product where there's no physical handling, shipping, import or other costs involved? no wonder…
It looks there was a techdemo live stream on making of Agni today, copy-paste of the link from neogaf. Hope you can understand Japanese. :D http://www.livestream.com/shamch/video?clipId=pla_15da8c82-b7ce-4df9-9ed8-17faa6ce97ea Or download:…
Great idea Jessica on doing a bunch of textures. One thing to keep in mind is that these will all be created independently, and at different times. So the style, quality, etc might vary. If you try stuffing these in a scene together they probably won't merge up well. At the very least you'll have to go back and rework some…
How do you do the debris animation @~53sec? custom scripts in Maya? or sections debris grouped together? And the transformation of the boss monster @~33sec? Blendshapes? Joint rig? Custom stuff?

Your first link is broken. I think it's this texture? http://www.cgtextures.com/texview.php?id=53294 We have some tutorials here on the wiki. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/MultiTexture#Texture_Splatting What have you tried so far?
