Some minor shader and diffuse changes that make a bit of a difference. After a certain point sometimes I have a hard time telling if I am moving forward or backwards, or just chasing my tail.
Try turning off diffusion as it can be a bit wacky. Material color and use high as low should work. Have you checked that the fbx is actually taking the materials by reimporting it? Could be an export settings issue?
You still can use them, and you should. Just, not baked into the diffuse. Toolbag 2 for example has slots for AO. In direct lighting, there shouldn't be any AO. AO is reserved for ambient light, not direct.
If you can, nail down as much of the surface details in the sculpt so when you bake down AO, Cavity, etc. maps, you can have an easier time of detailing and painting in the diffuse texture.
How do these areas relate to the model? I twould be nice to see the model in 3d with the areas marked. What is the alpha for? You might be better off just "faking" the holes here with black in the diffuse/spec.
Nice work. So you rocks are just a tiling texture applied to UDK sculpted terrain? You sculpted a flat plane in zbrush for the normal map than made the diffuse in PS? Is that right? Looks awesome.
You need a shader with a diffuse or albedo component. Or else you can create a shader which uses the lightmap as an input, and does whatever you want with it (multiply with the reflection?). Shader Forge is the easiest way to do this.
i've made some changes to normal map and topology, also the shape. got rid of the seams. normal has few bugs though, easy to fix. redoing the diffuse. new one is on the left, right is old.
Because of the similarities in Hellboy and Hulk's builds, I think you might be relying quite a lot on the diffuse to bring out the Hulk side of things. Are there any other inclusions from Wolverine other than the claw?
