I got some good results from using thickness as a mask for a Fill layer set to Emissive only, then affecting that with Levels. But I don't know how to use a gradient filter the way you meant - when I tried adding one it just made my object glow all over uniformly.
Welcome to our Dota 2 Monthly Community Competition #18 This month we will keep doing SINGLE ITEMS! Items based on the heroes like Huds, Couriers or Wards will also be accepted, but they will not compete for the trophy to keep the competition even for everyone The theme this month is: KNIGHTS And we are going to have then…
Now, it's worth mentioning that gradients don't (in my opinion) make pixel art look better, they make it look worse. The reason I'm interested in the lightmaps is to try out a trick. I found a tutorial (thanks to dan fessler's index painting tutorial) that lets you turn any image into "pixel art" by using the posterize…
Good for you Nate, being that close and seeing it through is the best thing to do in my opinion. My 25 cents worth: - Most schools are crap. - It's a weird dynamic, almost everyone I have ever talked to that has come out on the other side of a degree has said it wasn't worth the money and time they put into it BUT they are…
ahhh I had to do a little futzing around to make it work. First I went to http://www.drone.org/tutorials/spaceChange.html and grabbed the spaceChange50.zip file - this is a utility node that lets you change between different coordinate systems. I don't see a spacechange version for 6.0, dunno if the 5.0 version will work…
Yeh sometimes, most of the time it doesn't bother me being in areas that are hard to see. There is one on my mind though in Dead Space, you know after you defeat the mold monster in the tunnel, if you go up to the remains there is a big section on the inside of the rim which hasn't got any uv's so you see those ugly lines,…
Hi there thanks for the comments. Your right about the animation.. My problems was i was so keen on getting something out there. i'll definately be twisting those curves a lot more for the next one. And hopefully i hope to get much better with story telling/scripting as i do more films. By the way blond, the character…
Thank you! =) Yeah you're right, I'll try them out bigger to see how they look! And there's no real limitations or guidlines for this project other than what I personally set for myself. Im thinking somewhere around 20k tris all in and 4 texture sets; head/hair, clothes, accessories and then the gun at 1-2k each. But those…
Haha yea that would be pretty sweet. If there are programmers out there who want to play with stuff like this, look up artoolkit on google for a site with a free open source sdk for developing your own ar programs. I finally got it to compile and took me a long time to get the lighting set up right. daylight settings are…
I'll definitely keep that in mind ! The forest does indeed seem empty now that you can see what's in there :/ And hahaha, the sequencer does take some getting used to I suppose, but I actually really liked it which helped getting over how difficult it is. It's certainly a new set of skills we need to get, but I think it'll…
