Finding out how much I like roughing things out in ZBrush. I'm not terribly good at 2D but with dynamesh/remesh combo I can try new stuff pretty quick. Took the hair a bit further, but then decided to try out something new. Duplicating and dynameshing the hair until I got the hood and it took about 10 minutes if that. I…
There are a few ways to get to a sculpt. When you know what you want to create, building a basemesh for that usually is the cleaner and more effective approach. This could also cut down your needed time for the retopo as you already have a base. But yeah if you wanna dynamesh things for instance, you could build thay ear…
[WIP ] #2 Sculpting Details in ZBrush, Retopology and Baking Hi again, I'm back with some updates. I had my family over so I couldn't post anything earlier but I'm back at it again! Here's where I stand with the project. Before I fully committed to sculpting everything I went back to Maya and refined the model to have it…
hello guys, im having a hard time figuring out whats wrong with my polygroups when i dynamesh the mesh. in the follow screenshot i separate the mesh using slice curve brush , but when i dynamesh it, i get random polygroups on top of each mesh i have slice and i cannot separate each one from another, because they still are…
Hey guys (and girls :) ) Is Sculptris Pro used in the Industry-Workflow? I mean, i can't see any disadvantages of not using it? The only disadvantage i am aware of is: -you can go straght to details which is totaly bad i guess - you have no subdivision-levels I can imagine the workflow would be something like: - lowpoly…
yea, dynamesh fuses touching objects by default and I'm not sure if there is an option to make it not do that. One easy way to solve your problem is to separate the two objects into separate subtools then dynamesh will only interact with the one subtool. This is the setup you will want anyway, makeing all your different…
I like keeping dynamesh resolutions down when working on organic models, but for hard surface stuff like this you'll often need to crank it up a bit in order to get cleaner looking surfaces. Preferably I'd just keep the dynamesh high, do whatever needs to be done with the slice and clay/planar brushes to work out the…
I've been in zBrush for about a year now, but despite digging around on a bunch of different YouTube tutorials, I still don't understand how I can take a finished DynaMesh sculpt into Maya for the texture maps & retopo. If anyone could explain to me their zBrush character process, that would be much appreciated. I…
Hello, I have sculpt in zbrush Sculpt has 4 milion polygons. That is only model i have loaded no other sub tools. I selected the model with mask and selected "Add masekd to polygoup" to make sure that it is all in same poly group. Dynamesh is active. I de-selected dynamesh and selected "Divide" and i get a message Note…
1) Personally when that happens I go to Brush> Auto Masking > Backface Masks. Then sculpt onto the thin area and it should add volume to it. Another solution is that if you're still in dynamesh mode you can use the inflate brush and then dynamesh it, then sculpt it back to proper form. 2) On the right side where you have…
