Have you ever thought about developing a small game from a general theme in less than 48 hours? Sounds crazy but that's exactly what happens in the global game jam event. On the last weekend we formed a team and participated in this event. Trying to make a great and good looking game within that short period of time was an…
Hi all, In this thread i'm going to post my progress on a new exiting uncharted inspired scene i'm making. there is just something about the environments of that game that feels amazing. so i decided to try and create a pirate-era village ruin with folliage to test my skills. artstation…
Hi there, I was in the same shoes with the GPU vs CPU rendering. I actually end up with 4 GTX 780 with 3gb RAM and even bought the Octane render for hopping the best result. And Bought an 1500w PSU of course. But I missed the point there because no matter how hard I tried I just didn't like the way how the GPU rendering…
Essentially I felt like they spent too much time giving projects that you'd be expected to work 48-100 hours on before students really had time to get a grip on the software they were using, and good practice such as proper topology was not taught in my core classes (though it probably was later on, but I feel that should…
I've been making some changes as well. Had about 48-50 pnds of extra weight. I've seen some nice returns from increasing my activity while decreasing my food intake. My eating schedule is similar to IF as I only eat between certain hours(usually between 9am-8pm)I only eat twice during that time and try to keep it healthy.…
@Arturow looking good! I think the remote's hang time is a frame or two too long at the peak of the arc. I'd take those frames and pad the end a little more. I don't know if it's because I'm old and slow or what, but I find it best when there's at least 15 frames of padding at the end to read that final pose. @Sonny, very…
@Adam, I think you're right 8:1 is probably more in keeping with games today and especially the next round of hardware which artists should prepare for now. With 8:1 you just need to be mindful of the dreaded down resing (at least in production). Don't draw 1px lines or use tiny fonts on a larger sheet that might be cut…
Thank you all so much for all of your replies, I'm sorry my response has been slow. I thought I had set up email notifications, but wasn't informed of any replies and have been too busy to log in to check. Brian “panda” Choi – thank you for that recommendation, I shall give it a watch. MacOrion – Do you enjoy switching…
I agree with the texture sizes, 256 and 512 are pretty much the work horses for props. 1024 for bigger custom props and wall tiles. 2048 is sky box big, actually I think sky boxes are now 4096? but still you should get the scale reference. I think unreal clamps texture size at 1024? So the originals you import may be 2048…
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] richest nation on earth fails to deliver a few million dollars of aid to thousands of it's dieing citizens. But is fully able to get billions of dollars of army half way around the earth in a matter of a few hours to bomb a bunch of men in beards. [/ QUOTE ] That pretty much sums it up. Irritant, YOU…
