Hi all, recently got the displacement panner addon and I cant seem to get the additional height map slot to do anything in the view port, it does however have an effect on the preview thumbnail in the top right of marmoset. Searching didn't return any results so sorry if this has been asked, any help would be appreciated.…
Hi, I was curious how many of the games people are working on use some sort of bounding volume to solve for physics/collisions and if any of them use the existing geometry to the create bounding objects? So far I've been asked to make 3 different version of the same world (one for Physx, one for characters and one for the…
Just a quickie, for those of you in the know. How are you guys going about solving foliage in per pixel lit scenes with regards to harsh lighting? Simple planes with local maps are used for foliage but for the life of me I cant quite figure out a nice lighting method for them. Is there any tips or links you guys could…

Hello! I have always used FBX format for baking my normals but i wanted to switch to OBJ because the time it takes to bake is much lower. As you can see in the screenshot, i get very strange ''artifacts'' when i use OBJ with same settings as with FBX. Does anyone have i idea how to solve this problem? Thank you!
In ZBrush, when I zoom in to work on a specific area of the mesh, I've been using Set Pivot Point to fix the camera so when I rotate my view, I stay around the part I'm working on instead of the whole mesh. This screws up X-symmetry tho. I've been solving this by just doing one side at a time and smart-resyming, but there…
Hi, Say I want to extract base color (for PBR texturing, using metallic approach) from a photo, where materials are clearly affected by lighting. How to do so more accurately? I am not certain how this problem is solved commonly. Through experience? Through better reference photos? Is there a methodology I can use to…
I recall having and solving this problem as well. ;) I think it was a scale issue. It's been years since I sat in front of Keyshot but were there no scene scale adjustments anywhere? I know I always imported OBJs and my depth map output was EXR. Oh and I did use it for DOF rendering - but not in Photoshop but rather in…
Hey Hallelujah, the different colors in your UVs indicate that some of your UV shells are flipped. Spread out your UVs to find all shells that are completely red and select them. In the UV Toolkit under Transform click the flip button (most likeley in U direction), this should correct it. Hope this solves your problem.…
I had some issues with my Cintiq at work - ghosting and other strangeness I solved it by using the included DVI-I to DVI-D adaptor - this forces the Cintiq to use a digital signal (otherwise it seems to use an analog signal, or something, even over the DVI connector) Might not help your problem - but just putting it out…
