More boots! Plaid pattern is super duper temp, just to get a feel for the fabric versus leather bits. Initial modeling pass on the harness. It's been hard to find big blocks of time to work since we're trying to get a project out the door at work, but I'm still working away!
If you're referring to that imagine I posted: 1) They were initially Tweets, so they had to be kind of truncated. 2) They were written fast after reviewing 80 - 100 portfolios. 3)They were on my phone and I have goofy thumbs. :) But, in general, yes. Spell check and editing are good things.
So another day, almost threw the whole initial idea out the window and removed one of the back wheels, smoothed out all the lines a lot more and re-did the front part. I am quite happy now with how this all looks and will keep this! On to more detail and engine ;P
Each piece of software has its strengths, Zbrush however in my opinion feels way more artistic. People complain about the initial navigation and UI differences but if you give yourself a little bit of time to adjust and give the program time then you'll find yourself adjusting no problem :D
Top work! for sure I am Kevin that the murkiness art direction in some areas was I think an initial right choice more son on night shots, but overall it looks amazing! Wish I had xbox one, Gears was one of my top Fav games a long time ago.
When the reference photo was loading it took up the whole screen, so I didn't see the "this is a photo" note. So initially I was like "WHAT DEMON MAGIC IS THIS!?" and then I was like that pitchspork on the wall is SOo fake, and those chairs are too smooth. Nice try OP! Can't fool me..
Most values are in. This is my process for most client work. All characters, sky, ground and foreground are on their own layers so I can change something without having to repaint everything. Makes sense for the clients who want to change things up after the initial concept phase. Next are the colors!
Lets Frankenstein this thread, ITS ALIVE! Finally got the time to rig and pose up this guy. the project got much bigger then my initial design, and I ended up making 4 characters in the same word/theme as this ninja guy, but more on that later. here are the Final beauty shots....finally
Started refining the thrones and added the outer details. My initial design felt a bit underwhelming, so I extended it a bit, and before I make the high poly I think I'm going to make some inlayings into the core-part of the throne, to give it a few more sillouette-changing features.
Did some hair tubes and projected the high poly detail onto my retopo. Thought about setting up my initial pieces inside Maya with UVs but then made a custom IMM brush inside ZBrush. UV Master is actually giving good results for the tubes so I'll stick to this:
