thx Japhir! ok well, heres a near final. maybe I should push it further but Ill have to let the model rest for a while. (and myself in the same occasion) a turnaround: (800 kb) http://www.mediafire.com/?3gzttbhtjex I hope you like it.
Yeah really, it costs at least $750 for a laptop with an "okay" dedicated graphics card, and that's like a nvidia 420M, it ends up being more like $1200 for something comparable to a midrange desktop gaming card, that you could get in a desktop for like $800
Does anyone notice a different behavior on 'Toggle Background Shading'? No matter what I set on the viewport option it'll come back to toggle between shaded and wireframe. I don't remember it being like that on 801 SP1 :\
Since the last update i have a problem with imported uv. I have the first 16 solutions 100,1% wastet area. By complex objects with over 800 uvs is this so bad. :( Have anyone a solution for my problem?
804 tris, 512 textures I left a few polygons in there so I could rotate it around a bit. Next I'm gonna see if I can make some interesting decals/patterns to add more color.
Finished the low poly and baked out the Normal and Ambient maps. Low poly comes in at 807 tri's not sure if i should reduce the count a bit or if this is alright for this sort of asset. Next i need to move onto the textures.
Well that's interesting! I wish I actually had some kind of income. I was thinking about the Slate 7 even when it was 1000£, with shipping I would get it for 800-ish. Compared to 1.300 here in Sweden >.<
don't use these exact numbers ofcourse. edit: also make the spokes of geo. Would cost you 600-800 triangles, save texture space and look better. Possibly add a couple dozen polies to the rear of the saddle.
@SnowInChina Yeah the 650D is old with a pretty crappy Canon sensor. Canon sensors are generally pretty bad compared to Sony ones, especially the old ones. I think Canon has started to use Sony sensors recently, at least in some of their cameras. Overall, the A7III is an amazingly good camera for the money. Saying that, if…
learned some max in highschool and then taught myself the rest really. most of the current techniques and tricks I learned on the job and kinda just added them to my toolbelt. never went to post secondary, said fuck it to spending 30-80k in tuition :D
