[ QUOTE ] As for an engine, check out Ogre3D and Irrilicht. They are fairly new and free, utilizing a lot of the new technologies (Irrilicht has per-pixel lighting). [/ QUOTE ] Are these stand alone dev tools or do I need Visual Studio?
I'd like to eventually get an Aeron. They had one in my hotel room once. Dear god, I melted right into it. Most comfy chair ever. Too bad they're like $900 :o Some day.
Hats off to any company who will greenlight that pitch. But seriously guys, how are you getting so excited for a "revolutionary new mmo" with a dev cycle of less than a year that doesn't even have any gameplay to show?
Also, a important factor is your skin shader. The tertiary details are often exaggerated in the sculpt/disp painting as they will naturally blend out/soften with the SSS effect. It is a good idea to look dev the skin shading and iterate the skin details.
Dear 1980's, Please do us all a favor and stay in the past in our memories. You were much better then and trying to make a "new and improved" showing every 5 mins. Thanks. P.S. send beer.

the mushroom stuff is great - and a great way to get an introduction to maya by starting with something simple - with you're last sculpt the face seems a bitt muddy, not sure if you'd touched that or not yet but it def doesn't have the panache of the first sculpt.
I found this today on the Crydev website. Thought I'd share. It's a tangent based plugin for XNormal. Handplane unfortunately doesn't support tangents for the Cryengine. (something about Crytek not wanting to release their sourcecode to the Handplane devs) Anyway, here's the link:…
Hi guys. Just wondering if effectively speaking english is a big concern for game dev companies? Cause i am from pakistan and english is not a mother language in our country. So is it a disadvantage for me? and if it is then how should i increase my conversation skills? Thanks!
