Ok, so I think I figured things out... for the most part. Rather than trying to make it work as a filter, I just made it all output to a basecolor node and treated it as a material, and it now works just fine. Still feel its kind of odd for there not to be standard layouts for materials/filters/generators... but I guess as…
Completely agree again, and seeing that there was a lot of problems directly with the model that couldn't be corrected directly in photoshop, I decided to go back in zbrush and redo the whole post-process part. Here's the result: I changed quite a lot his facial anatomy and changed a bit the beard position too. I reworked…
I actually did do a google search first and thought to myself, "Perhaps I should consult with the Polycount community." I honestly couldn't find anything really giving me a good reason to go with one or the other through google, I was able to find a few posts on other sites but they were like 2-3 years old and Mudbox and…
What an odd coincidence. I just moved to Seattle and live with two gay guys too! Unfortunately they don't have a lot of female friends though... so that's quite unnerving. But hey, less distractions while I'm getting on my feet right now - and from my progress so far, I am not complaining (much). I actually work from home…
Probably, but one would have to assume that PC has a way of combating that. The best way to NOT look like a spambot is to not post like one. Get involved in actual conversations. Post work. ETC and so forth. Spambots on most boards tend to get sniffed out quickly. I wouldn't worry too much.
Devin: Thanks for checkin my sb out man! Make all the crits you want, I'm not exempt from them :P You're right about my figures, really need to try out a wider array of poses. I'll be posting some updates there pretty soon. *edit* Forgot to post arts..
Welcome David :) That's quite the first post. While I am not a fan of the cut & dry corporate approach to these sort of things - your original post wreaks of it - I am interested. Most definitely. A website focused on tutorials for gaming, animation, and VFX can't possibly be a bad thing. Thanks for sharing and good luck…

Hi all, I thought that with the increasing number of engines and standalone apps availlable it would be nice to a thread here where we could gather the different methods we use to preview lit normalmaps in realtime (renders banned!). Obviously in-engine solutions are always the best for studio work but I am mostly thinking…
Thanks for the feedback. 1. For immediate support, please email support@marmoset.co. We get a small number of posts on Polycount so responses may be somewhat sporadic. As BagelHero mentions, this is the winter holiday period and most of our team is not at work at the moment so you can expect extra delays to questions…
