This is a messy example I created at work. So bare with me. Pretend that those two textures I sculpted in zbrush and exported the diffuse and normal. Now I want to apply those to my uv map on the right. I want to scale the 2nd texture to fit my needs. But how to get the normal map to follow exactly with the scaling?…
i use meshlab time to time on mostly organic stuff or things like broken concrete. for mechanical things i find doing it by hand gets better results with more control. and with cylinders you could easily just reduce the amount of sides by deleting every 2nd edge loop and tweaking what is left. but that is prolly just as…
really nice...BUT i think it needs two things to really really shine. 1st the bloom threshold could do with increasing (haven't used UDK for ages so...not to sure on the technical name in UDK) so that not the entire image is bloomed 2nd the original paintings green tones are offset beautifully by the splashes of deep red,…
Started exporting stuff to UDK, and a first light pass to play with. I hate how bad lightmass does sometimes. Sometimes it's not because of 2nd uv channel, it's just because of how "splotchiness" UDK lighting can do and it's always an issue with such large meshes. Most of these assets are 256px for lightmap, only the…
Make the high version first and UV map it. You can remove geometry by hand, while keeping the UV layout intact as long as you don't delete a edge that is a texture border. When making lods in maya i keep my uv editor open in my 2nd screen so i can keep a eye on whats a texture border, and how my edits are effecting my uv…

Oh, I wouldn't go THAT far. This movie wasn't great, but it wasn't the same kind of train-wreck that the Transformers movies were. (especially the 2nd one) Probably the biggest problem I saw was that it lacked structure. The script almost seemed like a lot of it was being improvised by the actors. Action movies live or die…
As I didnt enter my opinion on releasing the results is matterless. But because we only had 1 vote I can predict that the voting went something like this: 1st= 200 votes 2nd= 75 3rd= 25 4th= 15 5th= 5 6th= 4 7th= 4 8th= 3 9th= 3 10th= 2 11th to 20th = 1vote the rest = 0 or something to that sort of ratio.
Aug Blazier, such a Negative Nelly. That being said I recommend waiting for 2nd generation. The new cores coming out in July will be more effecient and the gpu ~2x as powerful. I don't know if Intel is releasing a new chipset near the same time, but, ddr4 is around the corner. Not only is it faster BUT is takes less…
2nd Update I worked a little bit in the face and started defining the clothes. Adding some wrinkles, belts and buttons. Also, I started playing around with a rough idea for the hair I didn't like it so I decided to change it later. I have planned just to make the upper torso of the character. I liked how the clothing is…
