It's Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, actually, sampled extensively into 'Shadow Cast' by Skinny Puppy on 'Cleanse Fold and Manipulate' from back in the weighty late eighties. Feels very bioshocky. Thats not a bad thing, but if thats a look your attempting you should analize a few of the bioshock screenshots and try to match there materials. On the whole, bioshock is very very specy and makes extensive use of colour spec. Also, almost all textures are 512. So rez isnt really that hight. -

Shinigami, yes we do. Specular is still present as an input but is used much more infrequently. xChris, water is handled by our FX team, but high level it is a multilayered shader using flow extensively. You can also do either a greyscale value-based animation for expanding/contracting or a flipbook. Not sure if we did. -

You can use Flowgraph to some extent. But a Flowgraph should never replace code. Cinebox got that already, which is CryEngine3. It's probably coming later for the rest of us. For now I think you can use Ruan's FBX support for CryENGINE3. I disagree. I think Flowgraph is an extremely capable utility inside the engine. -

There's a button in Zbrush in the texture palette: 'flip V'. Hit it before exporting the texture. Or flip the UVs in Max Or flip the image in Photoshop. Or read the extensive documentation that ships with both programs. Or type 'my zbrush uvs are upside down' into a search engine. In the long run, figuring these things out… -

Hmmm... it looks like what I'm looking for is more accurately termed "egomotion". Used extensively in robotics to tell the robot how to determine its position by referencing environmental markers. While I thought this would be a variation of mocap, it turns out that this would likely be better suited for an engineering… -

The search feature in Blender 2.5 is pretty sweet. As far as I can tell, it opens up a search for every action in the program, and is intended to be used to find objects and materials as well, like an extensive command prompt / address bar for the entire program. Know what you want to do but don't want to dig it out?…
