If you are using Direct X (instead of Nitrous) make sure that Anti-Alias wireframe views is turned off. Historically, wireframe and edged face views have been slower for me than just shaded views. I think if you have an Nvidia Quadro or an ATI FirePro, you don't suffer from this issue. -

I notice that the wireframe you have presented is not exactly the same as the model first shown. Is this a different LOD? I was particularly interested in how you were able to create the frilly fabric above the boots and still stay at such a low polycount. I have finally figured out how to link up images on here! The image that i posted with the trucks that has the wireframe merged into it, i have put it on my portfolio, how does this look? Should i keep it or should i put up the full original and then the wireframe next to it? -

You can use the F3 key to toggle between wireframes and shaded, and F4 to turn selection wireframes on and off. F2 will change the display mode of selected polygons when in edit poly. Couldn't say what would make the text disappear, though. Maybe someone else can chime in. -

Thanks dude, I would do that but the wireframe is the same colour as the object colour so it looks a little hard to see, I noticed that I can assign the wireframe to use the material colour instead if the object colour, I will expirement with this after I get home from work and sleep. -
Render To Texture problem
Using the RTT option in max 7 to create normal maps projects the lowpoly wireframe onto the normal map. I cannot figure out why this is happening. It seems that I have everything set up exactly the same as the tutorial scene, which renders correctly. Anyone know what option I have somehow turned on to make the wireframe… -
Phantom sphere can't be deleted
Hey there I have this phantom sphere that doesn't appear in the viewport (even in wireframe mode) and i can't find it in the World Outliner, yet when I play the Standalone Player (to render 360 images) the sphere appears. viewport shading problem 3ds max 2011
I started getting this when i changed gfx card from ATI 3850 to GeForce GTX 570 Im also experiencing some problems where shaded+wireframe mode doesnt work very well. The shaded surface sort of overlaps the wireframe sometimes hiding it (which sucks) anyway as said in title im using 3ds max 2011 -
