I am creating a human torso from scratch with a realistic look to it. I decided to make an overweight male character as in the past I have made a lot of muscular characters so I wanted to try something different. My progress so far is shown below, any constructive criticism is welcome.
Hey everyone, working this on my spare time, which isn't much lately, but I'm at a point where I would like some critique and new perspective. Going for a more realistic style this time and also my main goal with this is to make an attractive female, let me know what you guys think! Based on the concept by Joon Ahn
Im looking to cross the ugly bridge called realtime hair. Im looking for a technique that will yeild the most realistic results. We are considering using an anisotropic shader to give it that extra zing. We are limited to alpha masking (no transparency due to the cost of lit transparency). What are some of the ways you…

It might be interesting to see how performance of that idea compares to what I did. I've not tried this with a lot of spline points yet (100+) and I can see it getting a bit chuggy - it's not a realistic use case but would still be nice to have something that could cope
Realistically, we are unable to sell those 2080tis for more than 400 $. I slowly came to this conclusion. Although as far as I can see, store prices have not changed so far. I guess it will happen when the new gen actually comes out.
Great work. Does Blizzard have an internal CGI team focused on making trailers or do they hire specialized companies? I've taken careful look at the animation and I think it is all key-framed. While the animation is realistic and detailed, it feels like there were no MoCap in this...
This is the test scene I'm working with. Trying out a new style because my portfolio is very much realistic game art. Any crits would be appreciated. EDIT - ignore the large amount of repeating items.. this is just a test to try and nail down my style.
