Anyone messed with the editor? PhilipK's pieces look great in it (specifically how well it shows off spec/gloss) and wanted to know if its worth getting for the purpose of just showing off assets (like Marmoset).
Yeah, to put it simply is, Context. ...it's quite a leap for that particular recipient to make (jewellery design to military spec ordinance?!!) hence your email flying high overhead. So perhaps some clarity would've helped.
Awesome! What sort of specs do you have? I wont ask what you paid for it. I'm worried that I buy a laptop that can't handle substance painter, which is super memory hungry.
What purpose does the blurry noise on your diffuse and spec serve? To me it seems unnecessary. Regarding the scratches: they look too uniform and blurry in the mid section, it doesnt look realistic. Just keep working on it!
Looks good WEe! I would say to make the top metal parts spec just a little lighter. and the make the bottom leather part just a tad more orange and I think it would be spot on
Well I love the model I think it looks cool. The steel at the minute you steel seem rather dull in terms of its specularity. I dont know if you've got a spec map on there at the min or not.
Looking really good KidNamedAnt, I would say the spec map needs to be highlighted more on the front so it looks more like the side of the car. minor criticism though, very good piece of work.
Im digging the design right now, but your normal detail isn't reading very well at the moment. Did you do an AO bake? Putting some more TLC into the spec could fix that too.
Do you know if the default material can be changed ? I want to change the default values for spec, etc to make it more like the 3ds max one :p .I think the default one it's awful.
Yup what mirbobo said, also if not going for pbr the workflow will be the same as in define material type and colors first then you can go as much in detail as you want on diffuse, gloss, spec, normal etc.
