Well I have a Dell 24" 2407 Rev A3 monitor atm , quite old now amd I think got some cray pixels right in center of it , nothing very noticeable tough ... so my Idea was either flank to my 24 a 30 " or get two 27" always dell , considering the new tech Dell uses tough the results might be differing on the two monitors... -

No, you don't need uvs on the high poly. The sole purpose of the high poly is to rip the detail to the Normal map. You set up edge padding in your unwrap. You can specify it as a number if you autopack the shells or do it manually. It means having enough pixels between the shells so nothing bleeds across to adjacent shells… -

yeah i think so, as far as i know that's just how maya works - it has no special way of interpreting rectangular maps. probably the easiest way to think of all uvs is as a 'percentage' of the texture map rather than specific explicit pixel values; it'll generally look at the texture map that you load in and say 'hmm, okay… -

I used avoid using the Auto Levels entirely since it can be expensive. I like to limit myself to one per material now. Also, you'll almost always want HIGH quality set on that.
