Hi, polycounters! This is my latest enviro for Artstation Environment Challenge. I kinda liked how it worked out. Right now I'm busy with ZBrush highpoly studies and texture training, so I hold my enviro activity on pause for now. I'm glad that I used some new shader tricks for this scene (for mushrooms mostly), used…
Thought I would share my experience quitting a job to focus on 3d. I was still in college at the time of this so it is a bit different but still figured I would share. Near the end of college I got an internship at SOE for 3 months working on EverQuest 1 which just had its 10th birthday. It was the only internship spot…
Hey Peter, I really dig the movement / animation of the main characters. The z-depth gameplay is nice thus far too. To add my thoughts on the enviro work - I think right there is just a strong disconnect visually between the characters and the world. You can do a lot with out a super lighting engine to make the enviro work…
right now it looks a bit mish mashed, the worst offender being the models with the black backgrounds. all the thumbs are different sized and jammed together. I would space things out a bit, have apage for enviros and then one for assets maybe. right now its visual overload. or have it all one page, but with some space…
Thanks guys for the cheering me up, I've got a good and a bad news: The Bad: I'm probably going to enter the BRAWL contest enviro comp. The Good: I'm probably going to enter the BRAWL contest enviro comp!!! So in the meantime I'll put this on hold, it's not like it's not going to be finished. I'll come back to it. Which is…
Yeah needless to say its a great game even with the minor gripes, tho i do think overall the enviroments look a bit better than the characters, mostly i think because there isnt such a focus on individual aspects of the environment, like there is characters. I mean i can find tons of flaws and such if i really try to look…
I just tested out and only solution I could get was add one level of smooth. If you can get your hands on some assets like this from professional enviro artist and you see higher amount of geometry for arches that would confirm that it's the probably the best way. I couldn't find a way to take out waviness that low amount…
Madnessimport: Haha,i guess i need to stack up on some snacks and lock my doors for a while.and ive been drawing for years but just recently got more serious with it. Eastlin: That actually inspires me to draw some small simple enviroments :D ill post some updates once i get something to show, thanks for the advice!and no,i…
apsolutly epic, my only issue is the third pic - might just be me (and im thinking this less the more i look) but it looks a lil too big for that enviro, just scaling the truck down a tad or the enviroment equally may help it but as i say its probably just me oh and i want to see this animated - if you could show us the…
UE4 was crashing my computer yesterday so took a break from enviro. Did a paintover and designed one of the thugs to replace the UE4 blue man. The tattoo wouldn't be there, I was just messing around. My character style is pretty simple but it took just as long to sculpt him as it did to finish the fan so it felt like a…
