Only one thing that's kinda bummin' me...the URL for the Gears mod page on UDN, which is even printed in the back of the manual requests password authentication when going to it via UDN links and if you type it in directly it says 404. :/ I guess somebody forgot to switch it on.
you could recreate the same technique from UDK that allows for parameters for falloff sharpness, angle and coverage. This is in UE4 but uses a UDK technique (that i sadly can't find good non-404'd resources for. That should help you. Need any extras just ask. (it's controlling an Alpha in a lerp as normal)

Aww, yea I'd like to come to the International but I never got a ticket due to all those 404 errors and such. I think maybe those of us who didn't get a ticket should talk to the Valve guys. Maybe we could help out backstage or something. Would be a great experience.
I am taking a closer look at the GPU ram here, and it does look like the trouble textures are higher in ram. The biggest being around 590. I find it strange that if I move that texture to the top of the stack, it's mem usage goes down to 450. I'm unfamiliar with the gigatexel engine. Would that help?
Ok, I took some more closeups and also added a couple of wireframe pics. I should also add that the model is 484 polys. I tried to keep it as low as possible. I also wanted to know in the gaming industry if its ok to paint your model in Mudbox instead of doing it in Photoshop?
I don't get the 500 credits per month plan (for 49$), I could keep a free account and get 15 credits per day, coming up to 450 per month, what's the advantage for the paid one? I rarely need large or extra large images..

The font is difficult to read. Replace the welcome block with the Vimeo embed and your illustrations. That's all people want to see, and if they don't like it they won't explore further.
