If this is your biggest concern then I think this road might not be for you. Most of the people here do art just because they love it and would probably continue doing it even if they had to live on noodles every day. You need a huuge amount of passion and discipline to push yourself through and become good enough to get…
90% of the time they are simple loops. Meaning that it is not a continuous fabric, but separate meshes instead. For example the top gun has ten loops while the bottom has five. Just make one, detail it and copy it a couple times, deform it a bit here and there. Add some wear and tear... and nobody can tell whether it's one…
I admit it sets off a few alarm bells, like the lack of tactile buttons/analogs, and I wonder how long those track pads will last under consistent use-- but at this point I'll keep an open mind because game controllers can't continue to look like the xbox 360's for all time.
I got extra helps the other day, and I think I made some good progress here. Going to continue blocking in pieces of armors, clothes, and adjust them to match the concept art; before cleaning them up. Cloth folding will probably be the last to get done properly. Here's a render... to celebrate this minor milestone.
Thanks everyone for the great advice. What Snacuum says is true, there are no non-specific degrees in Australia as far as I know, just electives, which bites but what can you do? Haha. Anyway, I think I'll continue to aim for architecture because that seems like a satisfying goal and a path into the future that I'll enjoy.…
Thank you guys, glad you like it, i will try to continue it as soon as possible ! Torsoaril> Yes i will pose him later, i'll try to rig him even if it's not my speciality :D Aga22> Actually it's not really diffuse only. There are a spec map and a hand painted bump map to get some more Highlights on the metal :) .
thank you for your replay. Oke i continued with layers. If i star a new layer most of the time it works lol. Now your talking about not using any layer for paint... :) too bad i want to use layers for painting :S well thank u i will testing it without a layer or with just one...
Did an initial export to get some stuff into Unreal to start a scene so I have a basis for materials. Materials are just in a basic state right now. Dirt, wear, and details are still to come. Just getting some of the scene in-engine gives me some motivation to continue haha. Obviously, the water level is missing. That's…
Ok have you noticed all the cliffs? They aren't meshes modeled and placed ingame with lods etc ,they look like are parts of the same terrain , with the same textures adapted to the shape or viceversa? I see extrusions in the terrain in xy directions , the textures match the shape of the cliffs and they aren't added meshes…
You need enough frames to stop strobing, which is where the eye looses continuity of what objects are what. Usually you want each frame to partially overlap the last frames position. For example, the bombs don't look right because your eye doesn't have enough frames to see each individual bombs movement.
