I'll give my 2c on this topic and try to stay constructive. The first thing I noticed on most of your objects was material definition was lacking. Even stylized stuff looks like the materials they're made of. One of the biggest ones that i see in yours was your wood material. Squiggly lines on a brown background doesn't…
Reminds me of interview for Arch Visualisation company I went, they turned me down by saying other guy had degree in architecture :D lol, But here is the thing that degree might help but if you have no idea of Vray or MEntal ray and the pain they cause at certain rendering stages ur good as dead lol cause at the end of the…
I have had it happen too, try disable the hardware rendering (SHIFT+F3) by default. It only happens to me with non-standard 3ds max materials, like VRay materials and non-materialised objects.
Vrav: Cheers! Kincade: Thanks man! ae: Haha, call my agent. Black dude's sort of my attempt at Ultimate's Nick Fury, not so much a likeness to Sammy J, just freestyling on a comic character. Mladen: Thanks :) Alright, done with this guy for now - got to do some tther things: Thanks. Gav
This time of year is usually pretty rough due to end of fiscal year which then leads into the holiday period. Having looked at your folio your work is good enough to land an entry level position, but as a whole your presentations letting you down. For example "I would highly suggest you remove the barbarian at the bottom…
that's some nice tight detail. looks good, its a nice piece to test your displacement workflow on. actually with hires textures they don't do it like that, one big map. and you can have upwards of 400k of texture space on a film creature. that would be one big ass map what you want to do is take a shot at using multiple uv…
oO ahem So what is the real point here. There are pros and students and they will b there always as long as the earth is spining :D . I do agree that some people will just walk in an art institute to directly learn Vray and Car modelling without even actually understanding what is a light bounce. As for me i still have…
At a minimum, a desktop PC used for 3d art these days should have 16GB of RAM, and a GPU with 4GB of VRAM. I would highly recommend not going below that. If you get something with an SSD, it needs to have at least 120GB of storage to fit the OS + base 3D apps (ie. Max/Maya/ZBrush/Photoshop/Substance designer/etc.), or…
hmmm...your final textures, some details seemed to be left out from your high poly. You either didnt model the stuff, or maybe they are not showing. Also, i see lot of unused tris and stuff you could fix. Next to that is the textures. Diffuse is looking alright, keep working on it. And you defineately need a spec map in…
