Pretty normal for cascade shadows to have artifacts like this. You'll often see this kind of gap/artifact on hats in video games from the last 2 or 3 generations. You might be able to design around it by making the windows their own model with depth going into the wall.
We are looking into adding some support for Dota 2 content in Marmoset Toolbag 2, does this sound like something that would be interesting/useful to the Dota community? This would likely involve some custom shader models to match the look of the Dota 2 shader, as well as a few features to support loading of Dota 2 style…
Haven't seen a thread about this yet, and now the beta for it is out! (click image) Just an FYI, it's not the standalone Source 2 engine. BUT, it is the beta of a build from the Source 2 engine on DOTA 2. I'm downloading now to play with it and see how it is. I'm happy to see how nice their new hammer editor resembles…
