I think, it is great what currently happens with PC gaming... more and more incredibly well done mod/freeware/open-source games, and all those crappy console games can stay where they are (fighting games have been the same since ages, and the older ones run quite well emulated). I actually think the PC is where game…
Zombies can't climb? Sense when? Tell that to the left for dead type zombies. A bloody zombie flailing in the water is a zombie that will soon get eaten by a shark, BAM!, shark and whale zombies, Hope you've got the know how to drive a big enough boat. If you can get to a desert Island, or even know where one is your…
As long as Unity can import a premade mesh, and do some simple space partitioning on it, using a pre-made lightmapped level will work fine. It's just another texture layer. Using fully lightmapped levels with no geo-instancing worked fine even ten years ago. You just have to scale your dataset properly. A lot of times in…
Still wip, getting out of comfort zone with this one for texturing. Had to redo UVs to make more continuous islands and fix some harsh angles that were bothering me.
Hey Hazardous, to get a closed hole, I always mirrored and welded in the geometry rollout. It'll cut it perfectly, and sort the weird edge you'd normally get, and have the exact geo on the opposite side. Super massive thanks to you and all the peeps documenting their stuff during this course!
Hello everyone, I would like to better understand texel density and how to maintain it in a scene. What blocks me is that I understand how it works, with the various mathematical formulas, even how many times to tile a texture, but then I can’t find a practical reference when I try to maintain texel density for an entire…
In my personal opinion, selling art assets is a sucker's bet. You're basically doing the work for free and hoping that nobody will make copies of it after the sale and share it around. Then, in order to attempt to maintain control, you have to hunt down and sue everyone who infringes your copyright, which is an expensive…
Looking at your site, the first thing I see is that there's not much in the way of finished stuff in there. I know what you're saying about being bad at keeping up and finishing things is almost like a discipline in itself. I'm revamping my portfolio myself at the moment, so I know where you are coming from. In your…
Sometimes i get flipped faces, so you can check that by going to the object name (if you labeled them) selecting it and clicking the back-face option on the left. (For me) they come in usually normal flipped, If you tried all other options you can try this one. Notes : you have to fix the issue, clicking that option will…
One solution would be to ignore Youtube and click-thirsty 'content-creators' as much as you can. I'm fully armored when I go on the net and those 'security' whatever bot-detection BS filters do catch me from time to time no matter the settings. And if I ever come across the guy who came up with captcha's and makes me click…
