Hi all, a recent studio layoff has made it necessary for me to begin rebuilding my portfolio. Looking to get a little visibility on my procedural material work. Here's the most recent material I've completed, hope you like it! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Y0K3V
the eyes offset is most easily fixed by unbinding, removing the bind pose, and rebinding them. Since they 100% weight to a single joint this is an easy fix. if during the setup of the fit skeleton it complains about joints not being zeroed out this can also be the issue, if you ignored that. One time I had a similar issue…
I had almost forgot about the thread xD I had an hard drive crash and most of the engine files for the level had been lost... I still have the assets on an other drive so I'll come back to this and rebuild it from scratch eventually!
@kat. Yes its blender, i think that i not really understanding the terminology or maybe bcz i have some hk changed, but by rebuild(ctr+j), you mean tris to quads? If yes, then dindn't work. But its probably me doing something wrong.
yes but its just point data, so unless you write a script that does something with it so that it has volume in terms of faces it will be useless. Like adding spheres to each point, merge it into a mesh and then use a retopo script to rebuild the mesh into a clean 3d mesh.
Looks great. Do you do any of your high-detail modeling (like the panels, bolts, etc) in Zbrush or do you only use it to Boolean? I'm not too familiar with using Zbrush's tools but doesn't dynamesh for combing objects completely rebuild the topology?
nah hes got it. he said its gonna be a high res model icant imagine hes gonna use this as his low poly later if he takes it into zbrush. generally it always makes more sense to rebuild after and get proper forms. wooord
A little update on the Unity lightmap renderer. I got in-editor rendering and material handling figured out so its almost at a useable state. Its still rather slow though, this scene takes about 1 minute for a full rebuild with 4,500,000 total raycasts.
he is sundance. another old timer who realizes he cannot escape the gravitational pull of the big green planet. i'm weeks away from rebuilding a new improved PC capable or running today's bloated bags of eye candy. i want blood.
Now all of the props have finished hand painted details, except the ones I want to change or rebuild! I really like the way it looks so far. also I asked for some concept art for the ceiling so ill be building that soon as well!
