Working on completing a 3d model that I will use to create a little game in Unity. Can be viewed in unity web player at: http://jonathanjconley.com/ --CURRENTLY DOWN - will be fixed tonight after work. The entire thing is made from 3 meshes: the field mesh, the tower, and then the wooden stands section. I took the edge of…
I think most people realize that "Indian" is a misnomer (it's something you're supposed to learn in grade school... around 4th grade I think), but it's just that we've been calling them that for so damn long, and us Americans are stubborn/lazy. Personally, I prefer to call them injuns.
It's time to practice on another character bust! So, for my 4th portfolio piece, I've decided to inject a bit of style and saturated color. I'll be doing a variation of a night elf from the World of Warcraft universe. Will be posting my work-in-progress shots below as I make headway on her.
wow awesome work :) one question, what's the 4th texture map you have at the botom right? i'm guessing either spec or gloss? i'm inclined to say spec and the top left is gloss, would apreciate it! But yeah overall great work, looks brilliant, love the work on the face.
I'm not sure of the cost in terms of rendering/shader performance, I was talking specifically about VMEM. IE: Adding an extra 512x512 diffuse+alpha, 24 bit spec, and normal map is the same memory hit as simply using a 1024 with alpha and 1/4th the VMEM cost of a 2048 with alpha.
3th and 7th the proportions are off. 5th is the most classical thus most boring. I like the the 1st and 2nd where the 2nd has the most "realistic style". The 4th is also cool - 'goblin with shark teeth' and with the 6th you have 'goblin with metal jaw or part metal/flesh jaw'.

Excellent. Thanks for the interest, everyone. We will be sending out the first round of info to each of you on Monday (Feb 4th). Stay tuned. FYI, for our immediate needs, we are only up and running on Unity 3.5 at the moment. Version 4 support will be coming in the near future, but is not quite ready.
then we made this random statue prop and NOW I am currently working on a 4th set of armour, which just looks like this at the moment... But what I'm going for with this one is a kind of baggy arabian look like this guy And I'm also wanting a very long cloth scarf, similar to
Agreed, especially from the front and 3/4ths views the head looks "basemeshy". The eyes are too large. It could also benefit from more definition in the eyebrow and forehead area. I see some vague indications of the forms, so don't be timid about really cutting those shapes in
