Working on main props, crates, machine guns and granades. The WWI was the theatre for the development of numerous innovation, including the first extensive use of granades, here the WiP of an interesting one, the "carbone" granade, used by italian derived by the austrian Zeitzunderhandgranate. -

Obviously biased, but there is a bunch of OpenGL features + NVIDIA extensions (bindless family) that allow to give you very high amount of drawcalls + different constant data/textures per call as well (which do not exist in DX land). -

You mean something like voxel sculpting software or something more technical that uses VDBs? Houdini have extensive voxel capabilities that can be used for terrain generation and other things. Very easy to create terrain with caves. -

Oh yeah, you can also press Z for zoom extents. If you have a sub-object selected when you do it, it should re-calibrate the Perspective view's clipping planes, giving you more precision. -

true but thats still slower than pre merging them in your 3d app i did extensive benchmarking and performance wise: pre merged in max/may > combine children script > static batching > dynamic batching -

Beware though, .3ds format breaks the mesh along uv and hard edge seams, and only supports 8.3 file names in its materials (8 characters maximum for texture file names, with 3 characters maximum for extensions). -

The vertex color should be able to control the weight of the blend through its value, and thus by extension where the blending occurs. I think the 'blend map' is just his way of referring to the painted vertex red channel value. -

I rely on ortho view extensively, probably about 95.567% of the layout of my models are created that way. Don't see how you could efficiently model, say a car or plane, using only the perspective view port. -

played demo earlier today.. hated the controls, and really ugly. I like how they took a page out of some better games by having events happen around you in real time, but that was the extent of which I enjoyed it
