I think you're on the right path, and definitely thinking about the right kinds of things. The way you learn this stuff is by doing, so you're already well on your way. One piece of advice that I wish I was told when I started out: "Done is better than perfect." Especially as you're learning, you're going to constantly…
Good question Jacky. As you see, you need to explicitly provide code for every additional light, it adds performance cost, and if you want to optimize in case there are fewer lights, you get branching as an additional issue: doing IF's in shaders is not as straightforward as regular cpu code, shaders are meant for the GPU…
Hey Adrianna, I've been working as an interactive designer for a while now. You will want... a) Any good quality interactive work you've done, e.g. any websites, anything with flash, etc. This will show your understanding for how users interact with applications and is the most relevant to the job you're looking for. b)…

As linked to you in a previous thread, follow a good tutorial on cloth and folds: https://youtu.be/imp3j7l6V1U The base mesh you're using needs more definition in areas that you're showing. Way too raw. Highly suggest you sculpt the body yourself, if…
Thanks for the post beefaroni forgot to reply! Sorry to drag up a post again but though it was better than starting a new one but I feel like I am constantly spinning tires and not moving forward the way I should be. This moves away slightly from the original question towards portfolio type stuff but I am wondering if I…
Actually I think 3levan is spot on with the new fins; they look better than the ones I did, and honestly it'd be nice to have something less complex to animate! By the way, great enhancement of my original design! I'm currently downloading a series of video tutorials done by this really skilled ZBrush, a full breakdown of…
To be safe I think people should probably stick to what can be done in post fx and not get carried away painting in more details, adding foliage or buildings that kind of stuff. You can use photoshop for post just don't go crazy painting over the shot, you still want to accurately represented what you can do in engine. A…
