Hello I don't normally share my notes from lecturers but this guy really inspired me so i thought I would share my notes with you. Presents Dear Polycount Community, Wreckage is currently looking for skilled concept artists who will help us achieve the look and style for this sci-fi dinosaur shooter. Since this is my first time leading a game project I'm going to be realistic and start leading a team to help me make a demo for "Wreckage" to see if I…
I am another one of those "noobies" that's been looking for work for almost a year now with out any responses so here I am laying my portfolio up for you to tear apart like a ravaged field mouse. I am very open to anything! I am currently working on starting a environment in UDK, but would like some feed back first for a…
Sometimes, it is only one or a couple of objects that are corrupting your scene. Trying mergining in the file, object by object. You might get lucky and be able to salvage most of the scene. Also, if you are in the habit of using "hold" then you can try loading Maxhold.bak or Maxhold.mx (may have to rename extension to…
ling rush in 3v3 and 4v4 is ridiculous. got dropped a few times since this new update, but its so fun with some of your friends. team play is more fun i think because if one gets hit hard the other can counter and salvage the game. i love starcraft
Klash you really should have left the cables separate meshes, you don't need to have that rats nest in the corners, you know, with all those lines on one vert. You have a shading issue as well, other than that I don't see why you can't salvage it.
Thanks, guys :) @Christian Nordgren: actually if you'll open a link in my first post you can find the concept art for this vehicle and it also have orthographic views that I'm using @PixelSuit: oh yeah, I'm a big fan of Polygoo's work. I have his portfolio opened all the time in my web browser and I'm drawing my…
@fonfa yeah i have :) one of the aims of my project is actually to finish up with a vehicle that would fit in with the Ravaged vehicles, also yes the plate is meant to block seal the door shut :P. @magic i see what you mean but it's not exactly made to be a vehicle which would pass any health and safety requirements, in…
OK well first off, ALWAYS work with .ma where possible. A .ma can be opened and edited with a text editor, so there's hugely more chance of being able to salvage geometry than with a .mb. As Chris says, try exporting to .obj, failing that mail it to me at d_pattenden@hotmail.com and I'll have a look.
This is a pretty low-effort thread, so in an attempt to salvage it: Here's the Mike Hill talk I think you're talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tr86CLOiSBA Now, before asking anyone else for their input, why don't you try to offer us some 'design principles', get the ball rolling?
