It looks like you split the UV maps on the chamfer on the arms? Judging from the pixels it also looks like that UV island is at an angle instead of straight. There seems to be some nasty errors coming out of it that I think can get resolved with a little bit of tweaking. But I do understand if you have moved past that… -

Glad it worked out. The CGFX shaders can use different profiles for the Vertex Shader and the Pixel Shader. They are defined at the bottom of the .cgfx file. Sounds like your second mate didn't have a GFX card that would support the profiles used in the shader. You might be able to use different profiles without any major… -

You don't need to pad the light map uvs at the edges. I would go out of my way to snap your light map uvs to a pixel grid. As low resolution as you can 8x8 or 16x16 is good. And lastly, if you have seams after that, hide them. Try to make the seams look like normal pieces of the architecture. -

Sure you don't use the max2obj exporter which is used in old versions of 3dsmax. It's SUPER bugged. Use the gw::Obj one or the xNormal's SBM native format instead. Also sure your UV's are well welded and, if possible, pixel-snapped. Also, collapse it to Edit Mesh, then apply a ResetXForm and re-collapse again before… -

This is how it would look like: Less rough: I should use this more often hah... There is also a fairly cheap way to have basic diffuse lighting from a directional light. You could just take the dot procuct of a vector and the vertex normals. Or if you want normal map too then pixel normal world space instead.
