Looking good thus far. This video here ought to be a descent reference for lapels, even if you aren't using Blender: http://cgcookie.com/blender/2012/07/30/creating-a-realistic-head-in-blender-part-07-clothing/
http://www.leighvanderbyl.com/texture-painting-faq/ its from vfx industry professional texture artist, but i think is applicable to gamedev. If you wanna do something stylized, paint textures by yourself and use photos for realistic work
Really enjoyed the film, didnt think the story or pacing was particularly good, spectacular visuals of course but I find it jarring the way it sits in this uncanny space between realistic/gritty and childish/silly especially with the talking animals and songs.
I think there's alot of false expectations for the next gen systems. I really wish games wouldn't push to be so realistic in art design. I'm more excited about the graphics in DOA4 then most of the other games showcased.
With your glows make sure your using an alpha, it currently looks like just a polygon glowing. By using an alpha and gradient out the edges you will get a more realistic effect and more of an illusion of the glass containing a bulb.
Looks like it would fit into one of the clash games. I think the outfit could use some more color though, it currently has some very vibrant colors but most of it is really muted and more realistic toned.
Yah the gravity on the vehicles is high. I'm hoping with this online age that, if we bitch enough, they'll listen and patch it down to something more realistic. That is of course if it doesn't end up being a shitton of fun with the gravity set like that.
i really like the proportions of this model, but the highpoly is really weird, like ou tried a weird mix between cartoony and somewhat realistic, right now it isnt working much id say work a tad more in the highpoly.
Looking really nice man! Is there possibly too much AO on the door area though. It almost looks like a drawing to me there and slightly less realistic compared to the rest. It's a super minor nitpick though, really nice work!
Even if he did textures, they wouldn't be in the game. The game was super realistic, then they took a drastic art style changes I think because Fallout came out, which was a similar style game. Great model, good job!
