Thanks for the reply. I thought about the dilation feature/edge padding. But it adds an extra step and is far from perfect when decals are close together for example. yes, i've worked with "packed" grayscale textures on a few titles and every time i wished i just had colored specular and no gloss at more than one point during the projects. while it's true you can save vram with a "packed" texture, you need to put in more work to separate materials and give them color. many accent…
Some more updates. Figured out more about VRay materials, exported things more properly from SP, and dug into the sculpt a little more. Set up the eyes a little better too.
I actually have an fx1800 installed...and its been a while since I think about switching it for a SLI evga 570gtx. I do mostly vray or mental ray rendering and I thought the fx1800 was gonna cut but I dont find its worth what I payed for it... anyone having switch from a quadro to a single or dual (500+ gtx) here?
