So I reproportioned and reposed this dude to salvage him. Looks more like a human now I think but obviously the result would have been better if I did it from scratch. I feel content to call him completely done now though.
Heh you know, that's the direction I was working for - I'm going to texture them to be very old and grungy and stuff, so that they tell a story, like he's salvaged them from a destroyed aircraft or something, because he's supposed to be a post apocalyptic warrior/raider etc...
I don't take any offence what so ever. I can see the areas I have just brought forth from my magic hat of modelling woe. I am working on it to salvage to model (not that I think it the worst thing ever) ;though what you have said warrants change. - Thankyou for the feed back. I'll post up my changes when I can.
Well, sorry it's been a while since I updated, but just to show I haven't quit, here's a couple failures... lol The first might be salvageable, but i'm not sure what to do about the transition between the dark grain and the edge of the plank... The second one i think is a total loss. It's too repetitive and straight. But i…
The light was fading as the old warrior entered the inn. Heads turned, watching his each movement as he made his way to the corner by the hearth. He rested his dao against the wooden beam and sat down on a large drum. Frightening scars ravaged his face but his eyes were kind. The inn remained silent, transfixed as the…
Learning Max with the minimal amount of tutorials. This was my attempt at making a chest but, I think I messed up the UVs to do a decent painted texture (which I was also trying for the first time. Still this is the first time looking back at it since friday. I think I didn't do to bad for a first attempt. Question is…
Eric: No that was me doing it manually in layers with a camera that changed exposure every frame and trying to salvage the junk I got. Hence I've never actually used that image for anything. Marcel: Excellent post. Thank you for the information. Once I have a decent camera again I may have to give this a go again. The skys…
Any errors in the script editor? It may be salvageable still, moreso if you have a recent backup. quick edit: What usually happens is some kind of bad data (ive noticed it a lot in UVs in particular), so maya just ends up discarding the whole model as a result.
I think the weird thing for me is that they're kind of advertising the refocusing as a fun trick, but I wonder if it would get old after a while. The value of this tech for me would be to salvage bad shots, but without better access to editing the image yourself and the rather limited image quality it doesn't seem that…
Sad day. I really don't understand it. That site has a lot of value. Between the code and scripts built to make it work and the content of everyone that contributed, we're talking a lot of money. Their mobile apps by themselves are worth quite a bit. I'd love to have the source code for them. You'd think they'd sell it to…
