Hey, I'm trying to use light functions to light certains parts of the scene only when the player is close to it. Through my research I've come across light functions and they seem to fit the bill but I can't get them to work properly. Is it possible to make a distanced based material for light functions? (Distance from the…
Hey everyone. I joined Chris Holdens hangout a while back and we just sat chilling and worked on our stuff on screenshare. It was nice and pretty relaxing. So I thought I'd do a few more google+ hangouts now and in the future and just work. Might live stream that too just to cover all bases :P Dont know what Ill be working…
Looking for a 2D Monster Artist (Profit Share Collaboration) Hey everyone! The game focuses heavily on original monster…
Oh wow, you guys are right, it was WAY too dark. I checked it on the school computers, apparently my home monitor is bright. Anyways, thanks for all the critiques I've started working on some and am working heavily on others. Thanks for pointing out hte thing with the viewport lighting Malcom. I threw up some screen grabs…
Hi all. Got a strange one. The other day I was working in Max 2010 64bit and I noticed that the viewport lighting was all messed up. Its as if there is a light in the scene, and objects aren't just lit up from the standard viewport light (whatever you are looking at is illuminated). Even in a completely fresh scene to make…
You should add brighter highlights on the focal point, If you don't want too much contrast, I feel adding a subtle highlight will help. I just want a clear understanding to these: What exactly is vertex lighting? Is it the same with vertex coloring? Could someone at least point me to a tutorial or…

To be honest it doesn't feel like Guild wars at all, the only way I associated it with GW was because you said it was. There landscapes seem much more colourful and vivid I've played that game inside out and I don't feel those images say GW. Try looking at the pictures of their landscapes a little more. I'm getting the…
