I'm in the process of learning Maya so I'm taking Steven Stalberg's Cybergirl v6.0 workshop over at http://www.CGworkshops.com I thought I'd kill a couple birds with one stone. In addition to the workshop, Im putting together a website for the artists of 38Studios. This website will be similar to what the Ensemble guys…
- the end near the front after the large sphere changes angle, unlike the concept where it’s a straight line - the scale of the front end is elongated more than the concept - you missed the groove details at the top rear above the handle on the smooth shape - your angles on the center are exaggerated - the way you’ve…
Hi all~ I'm excited to share my latest personal art Teemo Arcade! Its based off of a concept from Riots mini game Jinx Fixes Everything, which takes place in the Arcane universe. I feel very proud of the way it turned out, I hope you will check it out, and let me know what you think!!!…
Hello, Long time around but first time posting. I've finally uploaded some video tutorials on Character Creation for videogames. Its more of a overall overview of the process but its geared towards production. It was made over a year ago so some tools have been updated (mostly Zbrush) but the principles should still apply.…
Hey guys, I'm doing a sci-fi environment based on this wonderful concept by Jeremy Love: This will be my first environment. I'm familiar with the process of creating individual assets but I wanted to take it a step further and do something that is a bit more challenging. The final shot will be from the same perspective as…
@Cap Hotkill Thanks man! :) @danshewan Thank you for your interest in this model. I guess the one heels is nice, will try to apply it to my model later. But about the face, it's not that I lazy or anything that I make her "faceless", but its the concept and characteristic to the character itself. I don't want to create an…
Happy Thanksgiving polycounters. Thanks all you guys for the helpful crits and solutions. It helps me re-look at the concept with a different focus. @ Alberto Rdgz: You've got a good point. It's so obvious they should be bigger too, how did that slip by my eyes? :) @ Ex-Ray: I was aware of silhouettes, but this talk of…
Added incentive for completing this contest would be to a shot at a wacom of my own that I could concept on like all of the amazing concept work I've seen here so far in this competition. I figure simple paper and graphite will do the job for now. As an artist still finding my style in VFX, I want to make sure I finish…
Crits: @Pyrzen - I like your angled style of sculpting, really suits the concept art itself, but he looks like his shoulders should stick out a bit more, as he is very broad across the chest in the concept piece. I also agree with TheQuietPotato about the under-lip bulge, it's too defined, where as in the concept it's more…
Orthos shouldn't be necessary for a modeler. They rather limit you to something that might not look good in 3D. I'd go further and say that only a bad modeler needs elaborate sheets. I actually like the loose concepts as it gives you more freedom as modeler/skinner. A decent concept artist will either make quick separate…
