Hi guys :) The purpose of this project is to have a complete environment piece to use as a portfolio to look for a job as a prop and/or environment artist for games. I'm currently enrolled on Ryan's Kingslien - Environment Artist Bootcamp, i have chosen this concept since the division is one of the games i like the most.…
nice to meet ya sacboi, a form of chill'n, yeah. Affinity Designer... had to look that up. the work on your ArtStation, are these purely 2d vector or is a 3d conversion involved? been blind to graphic vector apps for a good decade.
@Torch is killin it in the rat department! Here's a little update. We might need to bring the character more into the foreground due to the rat looking so dope. Been chillin on the materials lately, plus pushing the shapes in the buildings. In this image I've deleted the obj in the top right, I'm looking at references now…
Abrvpt: Yeah I hope trim dynamic will do the trick. Chillydog12345: That's why I actually didn't use the ammo belt like in the concept. That way you're not only have to plug it into the M60 but also have to stick it through a windshield hole first. This will increase reloading time so I decided to go with ammo box on the…
The metal on your katana felt off so I had a look at the flats at your site. Unless I am overlooking something, you should really look at using a gloss map. Even when not using pbr, that's such a important map. And just diffuse+spec is getting outdated at this point if you want to do realistic assets. UV's for the katana:…
Thanks guys! it's nice if people get a trick or two in their toolbags from this. That's basically why i'd do it anyway. I'll try and document as much as i can when i get around doing more of this stuff. I've never commentated anything but i suppose i could try that as well! @d1ver: the artist is Koan - i often listen to…
@Chillydog12345 Some of the places I was apply were looking for strong traditional background and examples of painting so I added some of that stuff. I agree it's very shotgun at the moment. I'll work on pruning and focusing on props and environments. @BagelHero Dude, I love the huge reply! No need to apologize. Thanks for…
Agree with what Chillydog12345 said, when I first went to your site I thought you only had two projects to show, I did not know you had a bunch of other work under that hot rod pick. So what I would do is have a separate page and cover image for each game you worked on during the internship. If you have access to the…
