Wow. So, here's my critique (Very short)... I'm not a character artist by any means, however, first thing I notice is just how INCREDIBLE you are at making heads and faces. Really fucking incredible work there. The downside to your work (and the only one I can notice), is that it is almost completely apparent how much time…
Sculpted the face... one for hairs, and once doing a reproportioning. The reproportioning bit I actually moved the verts of the low poly face around in, and commited those changes to the dog in Maya, then ran the transfer maps. The sculpting the hairs I just did a transfer, no poly pushing needed. One thing thats really…
Something that would help immensely if ur looking for crits is to post a front, side, 3/4 of your sculpt next to an image of each angle that you are using for ref. things to look out for in ref images is camera FOV being pretty neutral and not distorting facial proportion, time frame so ur not getting differences in…
Hey man, Good start! I just punched in your link to find your zombie face on image shack. So if you can click the button on top of the message box that looks like a yellow box with a triangle and a circle, you can click it, and input the http address in there. I was going to do it for you but I just thought it'd be weird…
I'm not sure if it's the basic modeling procedure you're having a problem with, but here's a simple mockup I've done to demonstrate one way to build it: Start with a cylinder. Note: it's important to choose your sides in advance when you plan the asset. I've arbitrarily chosen 32. Delete the polar n-gon caps>flip the…
Yea it was a cool idea but it's dependent on the angle of the viewport in relation to the geometry so it mostly gives crap results that you end up undo'ing 10-15 times until you get something that sort of works. Because it's screen space dependent it makes it hard to get back to that angle, so you end up with a lot more…
@happybell Thanks for your detailed and thoughtful critiques. Really helpful. You make learning anatomy sound easy :D . I wish it was that simple for me. Even if 100% of her body was covered I would still refine/model the body because I personally think it is just good practice to do so regardless and, many open world type…
Ah, the old butterfly question. I've seen on countless forums many different ideas and thoughts on the subject. Personally, I'd make a simple butterfly in Maya and render out a short looping flutter animation from above (so it's symmetrical). I'd put these frames into a Flipbook Texture then import it into UDK's Cascade as…
Weekend, I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy Ill put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel…
Hey thanks guys! A black MegaMan just needed to happen... almost needed as much as an Italian Mario.. err, wait I'll take all your crits into consideration. I believe a lot of them can be implemented on the finished low poly, a little easier than on the high poly. I appreciate all of the feedback.. Nothing too exciting…
