Hello fellow Polycounters. My name is Rob (sounds like an Alcoholics anonymous meeting already), I am currently in my last year of university in the UK and have a research report to write. My subject is "Animation, making the jump into the 3rD dimension." I know there are not many on…

Good evening Polycount, I have worked the last couple of days on an ornamental pillar and want to share the "final" screenshots here on Polycount with the hope someone can give me some feedback and tips on rendering/presentation of this model and also in general. I am not really happy with the current render and I am not…
3D model made for Assoluto Racing (iOS and Android) Polycount is around 14k (without wheels), 1 texture used. It has been a good challenge for me, the Evo2 despite the blocky style it can be really tricky in some parts, I was limited with the polycount and at the same time I had to keep a good shading on the mesh, I've…
Heya polycounters, this is my first polycount topic, so be nice ! I've been wanting to create a foggy forest scene for a while now, so here are my current shots after about a week of work: Mainly used speedtree, zbrush (3ds max for bases), and substance painter. All materials are created from B2M using textures from…
Quick everyone grab your coffees and I'll bundle the macs into my backpack. On a more serious note, its great to see this sort of thing. I know as a "newbie" that if I am luckily enough one day to get work doing 3D, specially in games, I love the idea of leaving a little mark or something that comes back to polycount,…
Yeah i agree, pick a discipline and stick to showcasing that on your reel. Since this is polycount i assume modeling/texturing is what you ultimately want to show on your reel, take out your animations (all), keep your drawings (all of them) at the end or right before their corresponding 3d model and just show a quick shot…
I know it depends on your system and ram, right? Just like zbrush I guess. I have a 32bit XP that has 3GB of RAM and a core2duo. What would be the maximun polycount my system can handle before max crashes? (In zbrush I think I can go up to 10mill polys). I'm starting to mess with hard-surface stuffs and I'm kinda surprised…
Hello everyone, I am new to polycount and just wanted to introduce myself. I have just recently graduated from Devry with a degree in Gaming and Simulation Programming and am looking to get into the gaming industry. Although most of studies were in programming, I have always been more fascinated and interested in the 3D…
Hey guys, Been a while since I've been on here... but decided to post up some wips.... This is a character for a possible 2D Side Scroller been toying with for a little bit... Texture is meh, and needs some work, but just throwing this up for some lovely polycount rape... -2124 Tris ( 4110 w/ edge marking.. still unsure if…
